The Girl Effect

Thanks Jesse at 3littlebirds for telling me about this.

Correction: Her husband didn't make this video. But he found it and posted it. Oops

Watch the others too.

  1. Thank you, thank you, thank you for posting this. I was so impressed by your last post, but it's so daunting that we don't think we can make a difference. It's clear that we can. I'm passing the video around and spreading the word.
    Love you. Playtime soon.

Just so nobody wonders my husband did not make the movie but posted it on his blog. It is a very powerful movie and he would have loved to make it but cannot take the credit.

    Thank you for sharing this.

The Girl Effect is something that I and many others have believed for a very long time...freedom, education, initiative and hard work can go a long way.

These values can and should be nurtured here and abroad.

My grandparents came from Ireland and worked in a wealthy family's household. My father was encouraged to work hard and get an education, and became a successful businessman. He encouraged me and I became a physician. My wife and I are passing these values to our daughter and son and I hope they will succeed.

Generational poverty is an unnecessary phenomenon created by the idea that one cannot succeed on their own.
