Just so nobody wonders my husband did not make the movie but posted it on his blog. It is a very powerful movie and he would have loved to make it but cannot take the credit.

The Girl Effect is something that I and many others have believed for a very long time…freedom, education, initiative and hard work can go a long way.
These values can and should be nurtured here and abroad.
My grandparents came from Ireland and worked in a wealthy family’s household. My father was encouraged to work hard and get an education, and became a successful businessman. He encouraged me and I became a physician. My wife and I are passing these values to our daughter and son and I hope they will succeed.
Generational poverty is an unnecessary phenomenon created by the idea that one cannot succeed on their own.
